A basic set of rules and operational provisions have been put in place by RAK Free Trade Zone, in order to guarantee fair and equal treatment of all investors, employees and businesses operating within the free zone.

These provisions cover all areas of business operation, including:

• Licenses and leases (types of license, eligibility for obtaining a license, license renewal rules, lease and sub-lease requirements)
• Activities and operations allowed at RAK FTZ (including customs rules)
• Construction and building
• Park regulations (inspection of leased premises, insurance, utilities supply, and waste)
• Labour (working hours, employment and visa rules, work contract rules, staff employment provisions, labour compensation and accommodation)
• Security
• Termination of lease and license
• Sanctions for breaches of the rules
